Let us instruct you on the best and simplest tactics for physically defending yourself. We will teach you SIMPLE techniques that are effective and easy to perform without having to rely on superior strength or undergo hours and hours of training.
This course teaches unarmed tactics which include striking with hands, feet, knees and elbows on instructors protected with padding. Each student is taught the PROPER way to deploy mace on an attacker and is given an inert water-based canister to practice with. You will learn: “At Risk” Factors, Attackers Motives and Mental Status, Effective Target Areas, Simple Maneuvers to Escape, Disabling Strikes & Injuries, & Use of Pepper Spray.

Our active duty law enforcement instructors are highly experienced in preparing people of all backgrounds to have the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to be able to safely carry a concealed carry firearm, gain the tactical advantage over an attacker and be able to survive an armed encounter. The course is divided between an interactive lecture and 50 rounds of live fire. Bring your own firearm, ammo, eye & ear protection. Or, for an additional $30 you can purchase ammo and rent the firearm, eye & ear protection from us. Missouri’s permit is accepted in 36 other states. Age Requirements: 18 years and older. Class tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE. Courses can be rescheduled one time up to 24 hours prior to the course start time. This course is designed specifically for individuals with little to no experience with pistols and revolvers but have a desire to learn how to shoot proficiently. Our experienced and patient instructors will give you an in-depth understanding of firearms safety, basic fundamentals of marksmanship, and firearm operations. Our primary goal for this course is to give each participant a feeling of comfort and confidence with a handgun. This is a live fire course where handguns, ammunition, eye & ear protection and everything needed for the course will be provided by Ultimate Defense. Age Requirement: 13 years and older (13-20 must be accompanied by an adult 21 and over). Classes are NON REFUNDABLE, however you may exchange for another class of the same type on a different date if something comes up that prevents you from attending.

- Ammunition: At least 50 rounds (recommend 100 if participating in Pistol Marksmanship)
- Equipment: Bring your pistol, eye and ear protection (all in a suitable range bag) and closed toed shoes.
- Do not handle any firearms until instructed to do so and firearms are to be in COLD (unloaded) condition, with slide locked open or a chamber flag in place.
- Class tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE. Courses can be rescheduled one time up to 24 hours prior to the course start time. This LADIES ONLY class is a guided experience that provides you the opportunity to learn how to shoot without any pressure or stress. Our instructors understand that everyone operates at different comfort levels around firearms and will work with you to help you feel relaxed and comfortable as you gain experience. This course covers the 4 major rules of gun safety, gun safety in the home, gun safety at the range and proper shooting technique (grip, stance, posture).
Firearms shot will be a Ruger 22 Mark IV, 5 rounds with a Full-Frame 9mm handgun, and 5 rounds with a Sub-Compact 9mm handgun. *Note: This is the same course content as First Steps, but this course is designed to be a more relaxed, fun atmosphere for the ladies.

Multiple stages consisting of 5 circular steel plates, with a diameter of 10” or 12”, with 1plate designated as the “stop plate”.
Each competitor shoots each stage five times, with their slowest run dropped. The times are totaled for your stage score, stage scores are added together to establish the competitor's match score.
For each run, one hit per target is required, with an unlimited number of rounds. The last target to be shot, the stop plate, stops the timer. Any primary targets that have not been hit after the stop plate has been struck, will be scored with a 3-second penalty each. The maximum time permitted for a run is 30seconds and a competitor will be stopped and asked to reload if they reach the30 second limit.
Pistol calibers of .22LR, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP. Rimfire competitors start from low ready, centerfire competitors start from holster. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to have 5 magazines
