Sergeant Paul R. Bastean became a police officer after graduating from the police academy in June 1998. He currently serves as a Reserve Sergeant over the Special Operations Division for a local St. Louis Police Department.
While serving in law enforcement, he saw a severe lack of self-defense training available to the general public, so he created Ultimate Defense Firing Range & Training Center with the specific mission of giving people the knowledge, tools and experience to protect themselves and the people they care about.
Paul’s commitment to empowering clients to be their own “first responder” and to accept the responsibility for their own safety has resulted in Ultimate Defense gaining a national reputation, and Paul has acted as a consultant to numerous other facilities across the nation.
His program and vision resulted in The Missouri House of Representatives issuing a Proclamation recognizing Paul’s contributions and commitment to both law enforcement and the Citizens of the State of Missouri.
