What do I need to have to participate:
The minimum equipment required is basically stock service pistol, with a minimum caliber of 9mm. For revolvers the minimum caliber is .38 Special. The most common calibers for defense and shooting competitions are the 9mm, 40 S&W and the .45 ACP. You will need AT LEAST 3 magazines(more is better) or speed loaders along with a magazine carrier which stores your magazines on your belt. The most common holster, and recommended, is an outside the waistband (OWB) holster made of hard thermoplastic, or leather. Inside the waistband(IWB) are allowed. For range safety reasons, cross draw, shoulder, pocket, small of the back, or ankle holsters are not permitted. All holsters must cover the trigger guard and must retain the pistol during normal movement. A selection of holsters and magazine carriers are available at reasonable prices in our retail showroom, and are the preferred solution if you are in need of equipment. Ammunition does not need to be expensive hollow point ammunition. Full metal jacket range practice ammo available in our showroom will be sufficient.

Ultimate Defense is excited to introduce the new Defensive Pistol Monthly Match. We are modifying our Defensive Pistol “League” format, into a monthly program which will allow folks to attend when they are available, without making an extended commitment. The program is not geared towards the “Competitive Shooter, with a race gun”, but towards our customers that are interested in improving their skills to better protect themselves and having fun while doing it.

Description:
Each match will draw from two areas, personal protection and handgun competition, in order to provide the best all around experience. To this end, each Stage(Course of Fire) may be uniquely different. Different target presentations, starting positions, mandatory reloads, and specific round counts for loaded magazines may be designated for each Stage. All of this will be centered around being safe, personally challenging, fun, and competitive.

There will be 4 Stages, for each match. Shooting will take place on Sunday evenings, at 7:00 PM. There will be a limit of 30 competitors for each match. First 30 folks through the door between 6:30 and 7:00 get to shoot. Matches will be on the 3rd Sunday of the month. (01/20/13 is the first match)

Competitors will designate a Division for each Match.
The divisions are:

OPEN: Any firearm (pistol or revolver in handgun class) with scopes, optical sights, light gathering scopes, battery powered optics, lasers, compensator/porting or muzzle brake.

LIMITED: Guns with iron sights. Adjustable sights and fiber optics are allowed, but no electronic sights.

MAX-10: Guns with iron sights, which will have a maximum of 10 rounds loaded in any magazine, regardless of magazine capacity.

Single Stack: Guns with iron sights, which will have a maximum of 8 rounds loaded in any magazine, regardless of magazine capacity.

CCW: Guns with iron sights, which will have a maximum of 7 rounds loaded in any magazine, regardless of magazine capacity. Guns will have a minimum caliber of 9mm, and maximum barrel length of 3.5 inches.
